Bah, well I think I’ll pick this up anyway. Been keeping an eye on this game for a while. I’ll have to see what you mean by the motion controls being bad when I get it though. Still, the game deserves at the least a six, maybe 6.5

A decent review, but a handful of really stupid comments in the mix. I have the game and yeah… its not that epic, but motion gestures work fine, so there ya go :p
#12 by kNIGHTWING01 - September 10th, 2009 at 10:11
Ive talked with other industry buffs, the motion controls will not work 75% of the time when fighting more then 3 ghosts at a time. Its a flaw in the design. You were Lucky it didn’t happen to you. It happened off in on near the end of the game. Using the Lag Pa or facing the Flying monk ghosts. The only reason Ign and others didn’t mention it is probably they were paid not to. I enjoyed a lot of elements to the game. Just not the motion controls, especially when they are tacked on.

Pretty harsh review, imo. I never had a problem with the banishing techniques. The only thing I agree with on the controls was some of the waggle things that was unnecessary. The banishing with the motion controls was one of the only things I REALLY liked about this game. The rest of it was just mediocre.
I also disagree about the warning of the ghosts. I hated it because I like being spooked. But I usually agree with your reviews, just not as much this time. Still well put together though.

Do you guys plan on doing a review on The Beatles: Rock Band?
#15 by PeanutButterGamer - September 11th, 2009 at 04:31
Who would pay them to not mention it? I’m not really familiar with Deep Silver, but I doubt they have enough money to be shelling it out to big websites like IGN.
#16 by kNIGHTWING01 - September 11th, 2009 at 06:08
Its gets to complicated. Ign’s scores used to come from honest opinions. Not for yrs. Although Matt C tries to run things like back during the N64 days. But me I talk to the PR people and tell them if we choose to review this game. It is based on every single aspect. I went through this game 2X and I am not going to change my mind about the motion controls. My fans and viewers aren’t always going to agree with my scoring which is fine, Im not asking that that at all. Thanks for watching man.

Don’t worry, I’m not asking you to change your mind, it wouldn’t be a fair and honest review if you didn’t say what you actually thought. =P I was just giving my 2 cents about the game. It’s honestly not perfect and not nearly as good as I hoped, but it’s pretty fun.
And you’re right. I do usually agree with you, but it won’t happen every time. I actually agree with you on a lot of the points you made here, just not on the controls and not on the scare factor. Keep up the good work.

I find it hard to believe any reviewers being paid-off over a game like Cursed Mountain, unless they happily accept loose change. If i come across any wank controls I’ll be sure to come back and gladdly eat my previous comment though.
You get points for avoiding ‘waggle’ but i have to dock them again for use of ‘tacked on’

man i thought this would be good
#20 by Patricktheangel - September 13th, 2009 at 11:52
i would get silent hill instead of this game on wii
#21 by ThatStrangeDude - September 13th, 2009 at 22:35
What’s good about a horror game where you know when the monsters’ll pop up? That’s ridiculous. Horror is meant to be scary, that’s what the genre is all about!
This game looks like a piece of crap anyways.

Great Review, JI have got the game and this review is just perfect, Such a poor motion controller schema drive you from enjoyment to hanger, and this is a shame since otherwise it would be a great game on the wii.
