Mario Kart Wii has revved itself up with a series of new track, objects, vehicles and mid air tricks.  The addition of motorcycles and dirt bikes and a mid air stunt system gives a new lift to the game you have come to love over the years!

The main game of Marion Kart is the Grand Prix mode, gives you 11 competitors in a race to the finish on a 4 course cup event.   The Grand Prix settings allows you to select from 3 different engine sizes and difficulty settings and work towards winning the 4 cups.   Conquer these and there are 4 more un lockable cups to compete for, giving you a massive 32 courses to master.

Of the 32 courses, half are brand new courses designed for Wii Mario Kart – the other half being remastered versions of stages from previous classic stages.   The combination of new and old gives you proven favorites along with 16 new ones to get your heads around.

Flick the Wii Remote as you leave the ground from a ramp assisted jump, and you have a range of mid air stunts – control these and you are rewarded when you land with bonuses like an additional speed boost.

The new courses are built to suit the mid air stunt system, and many include half pipes, ramps, pits and moguls.   Although watch out how much time you spend in the air – while there are rewards for great stunts, there are also punishments as well like being blasted into lava – In fact a number of items pose danger, making the game that much more fun to play.

Mario Kart Wii comes with a large range of items such as mushrooms, Bananas, Blooper, Bob-Omb, Bullet Bill, Shells, fake boxes, Lightening, Lightening clouds, Pow blocks and stars – Yes, the game can really get busy!!

Mario Kart Wii allows you to maneuver around the course using a range of controllers such as the steering wheel.   The steering wheel is not a necessity as you can use the Wii remote with nunchuck, classic controller or GameCube controller equally as well to get yourself around.

Drifting is also in in this latest game, allowing you to drift around corners, and if you can hold the drift long enough, you’ll be rewarded with a super mini turbo boost.   While the new motorcycles cannot drift, they can pop wheelies for

extra speed on straight aways.

The online game play is equally as good – you can play in groups of two online against competitors from around the world.   Your Mii score establishes your credentials, and when you venture online, the system detects other players from around the world with similar skill levels – the better you drive, the better the competition you race against.

All in all a very good game for Mario enthusiasts – new courses, new machines to ride, new objects and new stunts with the mid air stunt controller
